Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Nomad Budget. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Who you are agreeing with

Nomad Budget is operated by Renato Mendoza (Lima, Peru). Contact: support@nomadbudget.io.

What Nomad Budget is

Nomad Budget is a personal-finance budgeting application. You enter your accounts, transactions, and budget allocations manually. The app helps you organise that information and convert it between currencies using publicly available exchange rates.

Nomad Budget is not:

• A bank or financial institution
• A money-transmission service
• A source of financial, tax, or investment advice
• Connected to any of your real bank or brokerage accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for any financial decisions you make based on what the app displays.

Account requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
• You must provide an accurate email address that you control. We may need to use it to send security-related messages.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the security of the app or backend
• Use the app to launder money, store data that violates the law, or harass any person
• Use automated means to access the API at a rate that disrupts the service
• Resell or sublicense access to the service

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice if the violation is severe or repeated.

Pricing and billing

• New accounts include a 35-day free trial with full access to all features.
• After the trial, continuing to create, edit, or delete records requires a paid subscription. Pricing and payment processing are handled through Apple In-App Purchase; the price will be displayed before purchase.
• The free trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription — after it ends, you choose whether to subscribe.
• If your subscription lapses, your data is preserved and remains accessible in read-only mode. You can resubscribe at any time.
• Apple In-App Purchase governs refunds, billing disputes, and subscription cancellation. Manage your subscription from your Apple ID settings.

Your data

• You own the data you enter into Nomad Budget.
• Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time in-app via Profile → Security & Privacy → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Intellectual property

The Nomad Budget app, its name, logo, source code, and design are owned by Renato Mendoza. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you control. They do not grant you ownership of the app or any right to redistribute it.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but the service is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that the app or backend will be available without interruption, error-free, or compatible with every device. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by service interruptions, data loss caused by your own actions (including account deletion), or third-party services outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The service is provided "as-is" and "as-available" with no warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.
• Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those places, they apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Apple App Store

The following terms apply because you downloaded Nomad Budget from the Apple App Store:

• These Terms are between you and Renato Mendoza only — not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the app.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app — including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer-protection or intellectual-property claims.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo (or designated "terrorist-supporting"), and are not on any U.S. Government prohibited-parties list. You will also comply with any applicable third-party terms (such as your wireless carrier's) when using the app.

Termination

• You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
• We may terminate or suspend your account for serious or repeated violations of these Terms, or if we discontinue the service entirely.
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a material way, we will update the Last updated date above and notify you by email or in-app the next time you sign in. Continued use of the app after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the service will be resolved in the courts of Lima, Peru, unless a mandatory law of your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
